Meet the Group Project Members


Michael Conrardy 

Communications Manager / Modeling Specialist / Data Assistant • Resume

Michael graduated from CSUF with a BA degree in Political Science and a Minor in Philosophy. He has worked with the Environmental Justice Foundation in London, fundraising and creating public awareness for environmental injustices. Recently he has worked on restoration at Coal Oil Point Reserve in Santa Barbara, while he completes his MESM degree at Bren with a Specialization in Political Economy of the Environment. When he isn’t studying, pondering the imponderable, or working Michael likes to spend his time playing frisbee, boarding (name the type he will ride it), running, dining, and seeking adventure.

Gavin Feiger


Project Manager • Resume

Gavin graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Geology. Upon graduation, he worked as a research assistant in the Oceanography department, studying sediment flow at continental margins. He then moved to the private sector, working for a geologic consulting agency. Gavin traveled extensively through Latin America and worked as a tour guide in San Francisco before beginning his graduate studies. Gavin is following the Political Economy of the Environment track at Bren, focusing on climate change policy. Gavin advocates a car-free lifestyle and enjoys hiking, backpacking, cycling, and the beach - generally taking advantage of everything that beautiful Santa Barbara has to offer.

Allison King

Financial Manager / Meeting Recorder • Resume

Allison graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Atmospheric Science and a Minor in Education. She is currently the Public Outreach Intern for the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District where she visits schools and attends community events to teach others about air pollution and climate change. She has experience researching plant production and terrestrial-atmosphere exchange of trace gases in the UC Berkeley Geography Department and teaching science to students of all grade-levels throughout the Bay Area. In her spare time, Allison enjoys cooking, traveling, and playing the guitar.


Aaron Sobel

Website Author / Technical Lead / GIS / Software Architect • Resume

Aaron received his degree in Geographic Science from James Madison University. He has interned for NASA, the Institute for Information Assurance, and the Center for Energy and Ecological Sustainability. Past studies of his have looked at the benefits of green roofs, poultry litter as a renewable fuel, and marine algal blooms for use as biodiesel. When he isn't studying at the Bren School, he spends his time hiking the nearby Santa Ynez mountains, photographing his surroundings, and enjoying all that Santa Barbara has to offer an east coaster. He also loves his parent's Clock Shop.

Justin Whittet

Data Manager / Model Building • Resume

Justin holds a B.S. in Engineering Physics from Westmont College, where he also studied studio art. A student in the Bren School's Economics and Politics of the Environment specialization, he currently conducts climate change economics research through San Francisco State University's Department of Economics, and has previously worked as an organic landscaper, habitat restoration intern, as well as a youth mentor. Justin has lived in Santa Barbara for 6 years, but still claims the New Hampshire seacoast as his home. He can be spotted running or cycling around Santa Barbara, body-surfing wherever the waves are frothy, or tending his home garden.
